Down with "It is what it is"

I've been in the "It is what it is" camp for a few years. But no more! What a cop-out; if you don't like the way it is, then change it!

Roadblocks

A friend of mine just proposed an idea to her group and it failed because of too many roadblocks. "I don't fight roadblocks," she said.

Any project you attempt will encounter roadblocks. Push them over, go around them, knock 'em down, but keep going!

Something To Help Me Understand

Tonight my heart and thoughts are with Brynn Woods and her family.

I really can't comprehend why a child would be cursed with such a cruel form of cancer. She's only four years old and has been battling for a full quarter of her young life.

Every adult I know would give anything to help a child, and yet every one of us is completely helpless in a situtation such as this. Doctors and pastors, the "go to" guys, seem to be helpless as well.

Just looking for a little something to provide me a bit of understanding.

Mediocre, but with a prize!

Mediocre, but with a prize!

Have you noticed how many people, businesses, restaurants, fill-in-the-blanks, try to disguise their mediocrity with a prize? Hey, we're not very interested in being great, but here's a cheap, shiny widget for you! Enjoy!!

A job that is well done and exceeds my expectations should be the prize, instead, I'm usually left unsatisfied and a few dollars poorer.

Promises

I made a promise to myself today that I'd write in my blog for at least 5 minutes everyday. Five minutes. I'm already dreading it and trying to make up an excuse to start tomorrow instead.

Great thoughts occur at the strangest times. I woke up Saturday morning and immediately realized a mistake that I had made at work the previous day. Okay, that wasn't a great thought, but it was an important one that I quickly took measures to correct (before the boss noticed!).

Guess my point is that you never know when something great or amazing will hit you. Grab a hold of those thoughts and run with them 'cause you never know which one will be the next big thing. Warning: most of them will be very, very far from the big thing.

Five minutes? Didn't check the time, but I think I said something worth saying.
